Find Out More About Us
Who we are
Ilkley Tennis Club is a friendly club, run by its members for its members. With a long history stretching back to 1880, the Club enjoys a fantastic position next to the River Wharfe with panoramic views across Ilkley’s famous moor. Over the years the Club has grown into a dynamic multi-sports community, focussed on our primary sports of tennis, squash and racketball.
Ilkley Tennis Club is managed by a full time general manager who is supported by a fantastic team of dedicated staff and coaches. The Club is widely recognised as the premier fitness facility in our area and our members tell us the really appreciate not only our tennis and squash facilities, but our fitness facilities too
Local sports development
Alongside our member services, we also have a very strong sports development role in our surrounding area. Over 500 local children are enrolled each year onto our junior development programmes – we have a number of nationally ranked tennis and squash players – and our coaching team work in local schools and community outreach centres.
Ilkley Tennis Club is one the UK’s premier clubs and we are also hosts to a number of top-class tennis and squash tournaments. In addition we also enjoy very strong links with the LTA, the All England Club and England Squash and Racketball.
Member services
We take great pride in the friendly, welcoming nature of Ilkley Tennis club and our range of membership plans has been carefully designed to be as inclusive as possible. From our junior through to our adult members, we work hard to offer a range of activities suitable for all levels of ability and experience. We know that some of our members like nothing more than playing a racket game or taking part in a fitness class, whilst others prefer to play for one of our teams or simply take part in our social events, for example.
Our superb facilities
Our tennis facilities are second to none and include 5 indoor courts, 6 all-weather outdoor courts and 14 grass courts for our tennis members. We also offer 5 top grade squash courts (including 3 glass-backed show courts), for our squash and racketball members, plus a fitness suite which has the very latest in equipment. A comprehensive range of fitness classes is available and in addition to this, members also have full access to our welcoming, spacious café bar.
