ILTSC Update

Good Afternoon
If you were not already confused by all the rules, restrictions & guidelines laid out by everybody including local lockdowns at the beginning of the week then I am sure you are now very confused. However, don’t worry hopefully we can confuse you even more.
Joking aside the aim of this update is to simplify all the headline rules and make them as clear as we can. The rules and restrictions are set out by the government, local council and the detail is added by the national governing bodies LTA, England Squash and UK Active.
I can assure you that all the restrictions and guidelines in place are there for your safety and that we haven’t just made them up for a laugh and a giggle so I do ask for your patience and understanding even though all the staff feel and appreciate your frustrations during an extremely challenging time for all. The team are here to help so if needed please ask for any clarification on any of the restrictions or guidelines set out below.
You will see NHS test and trace QR codes dotted around the club. If you have the NHS Covid-19 app installed on your phone you will be able to scan the QR code on arrival. If you do not have the app installed you can download it on your device here :
The good news is a lot hasn’t changed and there is a lot that you may not have realised that you could already do at the club.
-The gym is operating 7 days a week with COVID safe measures in place. No booking is needed and if you have not had an opportunity to see the additional space, we have created to make your workout safer giving you more space and freedom to exercise then please ask one of the team for a tour.
-Group exercise classes are exempt from the rule of six as they are organised under COVID secure guidelines. The great news is we are about to add more classes to the timetable in the next week so watch this space.
-You are able to play Squash & Racketball within your bubble of six players, we are already seeing an increase in members coming back to play so if you are unsure of the updated guidelines please ask and we will make sure you have all the up to date information.
– Organised indoor tennis activity for adults including coaching sessions, vet’s tennis, social tennis, match-play and team tennis sessions can take place in larger numbers in our COVID secure venue and will be split into sub groups of no more than 6 people excluding coaches. All sub groups should stay separate and not mix for the duration of the session. This is in line with the latest LTA guidelines.
-Junior tennis is not impacted by any of the recent changes and the coaching programme has started in the last few weeks. If you are wanting to get your child back into coaching sessions but were not sure how they are running then please email for more information.
-The Cafe Bar has re-opened inside over the last 2 weeks and we will continue to offer a takeaway service. To comply with the new restrictions, from Monday 28th September when ordering at the cafe bar or collecting your food & drink you will be required to wear a face covering at the bar and when moving around. Once you are sat at a table you can remove your mask.
-When inside the Cafe Bar, the current law set out by the Government means that the rule of 6 applies and that you can lawfully meet with 6 other households inside. As part of the local lockdown restrictions, Bradford Council have advised that you may only sit with people from your own household or social bubble inside. As you can imagine this has led to confusion about what you can and cannot do. We will continue to enforce the legal requirements of 6 and ask individuals to act accordingly in relation to local advice.
-The main impact and change on how we operate will be effective from Monday 28th September when you will be required to wear a face mask when entering the club and moving to where you need to go. You are not required to wear a mask whilst working out in the gym, exercise classes or on the indoor courts.
-We have put together a virtual tour of our COVID secure gym floor for you to see the changes we have made. Please click on the link below to take a look at the COVID secure environment and changes we have made to how we operate the club to help you feel safe when coming to the club.
I hope that the above clears up any current confusions and if there is anything you would like further detail on or have any questions then please feel free to email or Alternatively, when you are in the club just ask the duty manager on shift and they will be more than happy to help.
Stay Safe
