We are delighted to say that we are ready to open our doors again on Saturday 25th July. A lot of work has gone into preparing the facilities for your return. We will be opening the gym floor, indoor tennis courts & squash courts on 25th July.
We have been working hard behind the scenes to create a safe environment for you to visit and we have made some changes to how we do things.
Our changes have been guided by the experts at UK Active, the UK government and Public Health England. Please read this email carefully – we know it’s a lot to take in, but it is important that we all work together to keep our club safe.
We are unfreezing your membership
The club has changed, altered and is ready for you. Now we are able to open more areas of the club, we welcome all active and frozen members back and look forward to you making use of the great fitness, squash and indoor tennis facilities. Without you the facility is just a facility to which you are the heart and spirit of the club. We look forward to working with you to develop the facilities, improve the member experience and come together as a true community club.
Any annual memberships that have been on freeze will re-start on the 25th July.
If you pay by Direct Debit, your membership payments will restart when we reopen. As promised, we will be crediting you with the 14 days that we owe you, to cover the period that we were closed in March. We will not be taking a Direct Debit from you for the 7 days in July that we are open and we will also credit you with 7 free days in August. So, your first Direct Debit will be collected on 1st August to cover 8th – 31st August. Your Direct Debit in September will return to your usual rate.
If you are unable to use the facilities due to Covid19 isolation/shielding then please contact email@example.com by July 20th to request a further freeze.
We are going to keep you safe
We will be cleaning and disinfecting our club more than ever with an enhanced cleaning process, using detergent and disinfectant to sanitise all gym equipment.
We will be using fogging technology to help sanitise the high footfall areas of the club. The process of fogging is where highly effective sanitiser liquid is used in specialist equipment to generate a mist through vaporisation. The airborne mist has a 99.9% effective bacteria kill rate and decontaminates the air as well as any surface it touches. Fogging is probably the quickest and easiest way to disinfect large areas with minimum disruption.
We will have plastic shields at our reception desks and we will be providing PPE for our teams
We will be supplying sanitise stations across the club, so members can clean down equipment and mats before and after use
There will be multiple hand sanitising stations available throughout the club for members to use
We are changing how our classes work
We will endeavour to have the class timetable available to book 72 hours prior to launching the timetable on July 27th. When the class ends, please clear the studio space as quickly as possible
As you may expect, we are reducing the number of people in our classes, and placing markers on the floor to help our members maintain the 2m distance rule
Classes will be shorter than usual (30 – 45 minutes) to make sure we have enough time to clean and help members leave safely
We are maintaining social distancing rules
It is really important that we all keep 2m apart at all times – including in classes. Where we can, we will implement a one-way system, with signs to show you which way to go
The toilet facilities will be open, but there will be no access to changing facilities or showers. Limited lockers will be available for any valuables and these are positioned directly outside the entrance to the gym
The café bar will continue to operate an external takeaway service throughout July & August
We need your help
To make this work, we need to work together. Here’s how you can help:
If you feel sick or experience Covid-19 symptoms, please do not come to the club
Arrive dressed and ready to workout, no changing facilities will be available
You will need to book to attend the gym & classes. You can do this online or via the Fitsense app. If you can’t make your slot, please remember to cancel so others can benefit. The booking system for gym sessions will go live on Monday July 20th @ 12pm with the class booking system to follow on July 24th @ 12pm
The indoor tennis & squash courts will be available on a pre-booked basis. You will need to record the names of all players when placing a booking. The booking systems for Indoor tennis and Squash will go live on Monday July 20th @ 12pm
If you are booked on to a yoga class, please bring a yoga mat with you if you have one
Use our hand sanitising stations when you enter a new area, and again when you leave
Use our sanitisation stations to clean your equipment and mats before and after you use them, disposable paper towels will be available for your use
Do not share equipment and do not move weights or benches to other parts of the club
We are now cashless, so bring a debit or credit card if you’d like to buy something
We might need you to wait before you enter the gym floor ahead of your booked session, and stick to the social distancing markers
Exercise sessions will be for only an hour – that way, every member gets the chance to use our facilities
Your cooperation and support with our changes will help our team put them into practice effectively. When we open on 25th July this will be a brand new experience for all and even though we are taking every measure to be prepared we expect that we may need to tweak or change some processes once it it is in full operation so please bear with us as we aim to make it a safe environment for all.
